10 000 meters
2010-04-23 36 holes today. Was very tired in the end. 3 or 4 club wind throughout the whole day and 70-72 were my scores. Felt descent in those conditions. Day of rest tomorrow becasue the rest of the field has to finish their second round and the tournament was shortened to a 54-holer.
One of my goals this year is to run 10 000 meters in under 40 minutes. I don't know where and why I came up with this figure but it felt motivating. Just had a look on the internet to find some videos of runners that would inspire me and give me some tutoring in how to achieve my goal.
BUT. Now I feel sick when watching these guys sprint (yeah, they do sprint) in on times around 27 minutes. I guess they have practised for a while:)
Bekele is looking strong in this video. Have a look at his last 200 meters. Insane...

Hi Alex,classy blog you have, please keep on just as is. As you are one of the fitter or fittest guys on tour, can you share your thoughts on the Coopers test and golfers please. One discussion seems to be that 3500 meters is not possible for golfers, have you (or someone else) a similar record for the 12 minutes? All the best of luck with the 10 000m task. h. \M

Yes but these guys are not as good at golf as you. :-)10k in 40 minutes is a tough challenge.

Not shure a white man like you can run that fast ^^But well worth a try.
- At my best i ran like 7.5km in 23min i think. Ran about 3 weeks in straight, but then ive got a cold and called it a night for some days. After that it was like hitting the wall.
