3 flights of sleeping
2010-05-03
Woke up like so many nights before...still in my clothes and no alarm is set. Luckily my own alarm went off before the plane left. So it's all good. 3 flights ahead of me and I need all those hours of sleep. And to relax my brain. It's been a hard week mentally. Discussed it yesterday with Mikko. If you are a little bit off your game it's a good mental test to see the ball drop down deep in that rough time after time...
"Ghostwriter" movie last night. Good.
2 weeks of the hardest practice I've done. I can honestly say I'm so pissed off at playing bad I'm more motivated than ever ever to get my game into shape. I know I can do better and I was pleased after my 8th finish in China but the last two weeks has been tougher.
Orlando style practice week now. Wake up at 6 and fall asleep at 8.30. That's the best. And I almost finished that protein jug. Almost.
See you in a little:)

Morning Alex,A lovely bright, sunny but very chilly spring morning in the UK this morning.....
If I thought you sounded down-hearted in previous blogs about your game ....I heard this morning that Tiger managed to get 5 balls in the water at Sawgrass yesterday....and for once he isn't "favourite".....so I wonder how he's feeling...pretty sick...about everything at the moment I would think !!!
Have a good one..

Which blogs does Alex read on his spare time?reply

I know players on the small mini tours that have sponsors pay for their travels, so I disagree. Once you get onto the main tours, money from equipment manufacturors and small sponsors will cover your travel costs.Alex
true that but many players dont have these networks and take out a loan or many rookies as a matter of fact still sleep in their cars during tournament weeks. Many players on the challenge tour just quit because they cant afford the travels anymore. Taco Remkes, who was quite successful, was on the point of quitting but all of a sudden he won so he was save.Anyway, maybe we should just ask Alex Noren about the funding and how that stuff works when you join the tour?

Alex,Thanks for doing the blog. I'm an 18 year old golfer over here in Florida...going to be playing in college next year, and its awesome to see someone that is so motivated to keep me believing in what I'm doing! Hope to see you out on the big tours sometime in the future! Would love to hear back from you.

Hi Alex.....don't be to hard on yourself ...."pick yourself up, dust yourself down...start all over again..".....but enjoy and have fun doing it....otherwise...what is the point ...and I'll say again..."onwards & upwards" ....Take care - stay safe and most of all enjoy and have fun with what you do...goodness me...I must sound like your mum or an aging aunt...come to think of it...I am old enough to be your mum...LOL

.....
There is a good chance a Professional golfer on the european tour has some sponsors :-p!Alex
but in the 1st year normally u dont have any sponsors so most players have some kind of funding u smartkid, only after being successful, like Alex, u get sponsors to pay for your travels.....

and ok they might not be big sponsors like Callaway, Boss and Toyota like Alex. But, local sponsors where you are from, and small businesses like that all chip in to help you out if you are any good. I played mini tour Golf for 2 years and had 3 local businesses help me with travel costs....you just have to network with people and have good tournament finishes.
