Round 3
2011-10-22
Seriously bad and seriously good. That's how I sum up the day. So pissed of how I played but seriously motivated to get better and play well all the time. Playing with Garcia was awesome. He played great and played the way I would like to play. Low runner of the tee on one hole and then a towering fade of the next and then a low slice of the next and so on. So much in control and such a nice lag. I love lag.
Anyway, going out there to bust my ass tomorrow to get a good finish. I love this track and really looking forward to playing again tomorrow to get my a feeling back. Had a good training session on the range after today's round and it feels a little better. Short game and putting felt good but to many misses of the tee make it hard to score.
69-63-73 for -8 putts me in 7th spot and 3 shots of 2nd place and loads after superb leader Garcia. Let's go!
See you tomorrow.

Happier than ever
2011-10-21
8 under par today and I'm so happy with today I can't believe it! Never played this good. And tomorrow I'll be playing with Garcia. What a day!!! I've always liked his game and tomorrow I got a chance to compete in the same group. Yeah!
Was so happy I even treated myself with a new gym outfit. A real gym outfit! The only size they had was XXL so I got something to grow into...
And Magnus Carlsson joined us here and we had a super dinner last night. Great menu!.jpg&width=800&height=1070)
So, we'll see how tomorrow goes. Hopefully good;) No gym today. Listening to my body for once.

Castellon warm-up
2011-10-20
Just woke up had no idea of where I was. Castellon. Right. Spain.
Have had three good days of practicing. Lot's of putting and testing clubs and working trackman and playing 27 holes and drinking coffee and eating tapas.
Been testing shafts and drivers in Trackman but always end up with my old ones. It's nice to know exactly what happens when you hit it good and bad. I've played with the same iron shafts for over 10 years and the same type of driver for almost 3 years now. So, I know how they behave. I might take all the new stuff for the winter training and see if they are better, but not now.
This is the home course of Sergio Garcia. It's a three line course where you need to shape the ball and really pic your chances to be aggressive and stay back a lot of times to have good shots towards the pins. It plays a bit like Valderrama.

t.29th
2011-10-16
It's been a good week in many ways here in Portugal. Finished tied for 29th which is not what I want but it is what it is.
Came here having spent a lot of time on the golf course and hadn't been practicing as much, specially not the short game. Poor shortgame and worse putting the first three days held me back. Figured it out by spending an hour and a half saturday night on the putting green with all different tools. Felt hundred times better today and shot 5 under with the same long game as the day before when I shot level par. The shortgame is so important and it's hard to get a round flowing without holing putts.
Have had a really good gym week with short and effective sessions. A lot of olympic bar and slow sit-ups. Hate slow sit-ups.
Here is the walk to the breakfast. Unreal.
The hotel is right next to the course.
Erik joined in on the session. Super form.
Heading up to Valencia tomorrow morning for Sergio Garcia's tournament. I like it there. Nice place. Relaxed.

good start
2011-10-13
It seems like you guys like the blog. Thanks for all the comments. I get really happy to see that you guys like the blog and that you care what goes on here. I've been so busy trying to get better at golf so I've been worse at blogging. But I want to keep doing it and we are trying to improve it and make it more interesting and have others helping to make it good. What do you guys want more of on here? Please let me know. All the help is needed and greatly appreciated.
First round just done here in Portugal. -5 for 67 felt great after a very slow start. Played with Harrington and Colsaerts which was a lot of fun. Last time I played with Harrington I tied him for 6th in the Race to Dubai final in -09. He played really solid today.
Been on painkillers last 24 h to get rid of some serious soreness from a stupid workout on monday. We've done so much travelling and golfing so it's been tough working out a lot so soreness was sure to be there after that workout. Couldn't read the putts yesterday. Going to the gym here soon and loading up with a Redbull to get into it. It's hot down here and I feel lazy after a long day on the course.
Here are a bunch of pics from last week's hectic schedule:
So, from Monaco to...
...Valderrama (paradise)
...to Ascona, Switzerland for a Hugo Boss event.
Then flying down to Portugal..jpg&width=800&height=1070)
see you sooooon
