Pics
2011-05-29 Had a great week although game wasn't up to what's needed around Wentworth. Next time!
Played Walton Heath today where we'll play 36 holes US Open qualifying tomorrow. Around 110 players for 10 spots. Exciting. It looked like Wentworth but without trees. Good test still.
Some pics from the last few days.
Me training with my coaches Pete Cowen and Mike Walker and also with club maker Roger Cleaveland. He designs wedges for Callaway..jpg)

Good training with a lot of critical eyes.
36 holes tomorrow with tee off at 7.45 on the New Course at Walton Heath. Then it's off to Celtic Manor for Wales Open. Happy times.

1st round at Wentworth
2011-05-26
Today was a good day although my game wasn't there. The course played tough and the wind extremely strong which forced you to hit the right shots needed for every hole. My usual fade with the driver wasn't good on the holes where the wind was left-to-right. And this course doesn't allow you to start the ball far off line becasue there are trees there.
Overall, this is a "major course". A serious test and it makes me want to improve so bad...I want to be able to play it just like Ross McGowan did today. I played with him and it's easliy the best golf I've ever seen. He was in total control and made it seem so easy. His ball went dead straight all the time and with super trajactory. Not too much upshoot and spin. Just brilliant. I told him after the round that this was the best I've seen anybody play and he said that his shoulder really bothered him all day and that he couldn't fire strong enough through the ball...thanks a lot Ross. You can have my shoulder if I get your game...
But we are trying our hardest and soon I might be able to play like him out here.
Enough dreaming and back to reality. 75 today. Plus 4. Three more rounds though and anything can happen. A few swings in the room now and then it's time to put on the gloves which makes my hands soft to sleep in. I like when the hands hurt when gripping the club. Then you know you practice a lot at least.

Two gloves
2011-05-24 Great to be back at Wentworth and get a big fat punch in the face right away. The course played brutal today. Felt like into the wind on every hole. Only the shortest holes played downwind. The course is in awesome shape and it will be windy all week so it's gonna be a great test. I like it because you really get to know and train whatever lacks in your game. There's a lot of things we worked on today. But overall it feels ok!
Me, Mike and Pete worked on the range with trajectory and a few training clubs to get the right feelings. It ended good but my hands are absolutely destroyed. I've bought every kind of hand creme there is but they all seem to suck or my hands are just that dry. Found some gloves you use at night. Great success.
I hope i don't have to use two gloves tomorrow:) I got so much stick for using two gloves when I got an invite to a European Tour event at Belfry in 2006. I missed the cut, shooting a lot, but decided to stay and my goal was to hit more golf balls than all players combined during the weekend. A tough goal but I almost succeeded. I probably got worse by doing it but anyway. I ended up using two gloves because my hands hurt too much. Peter Hanson still reminds me of it :)
Time to put on the moisturizing gloves. Pro-Am tomorrow early.

practice clubs
2011-05-21
This day was just awesome. I went through pretty much all of my practice clubs and ended up using this one more than the others. The two-thumb putting grip put on sideways. Pete Cowen's invention.
And the heavy club.

Training
2011-05-20 Three more long practice rounds before heading to Wentworth. Game feels ok. I don't I've ever felt my game feels good. Don't know why. I'm always nervous of how my rounds will turn out. And also how my practice days go. Anyway. Geared up on some stuff for the next two weeks.
Schedule:
1. PGA Championship at Wentworth
2. US Open Qualifier at Walton Heath on the following monday
3. Wales Open at Celtic Manor
4. The Open qualifier at Sunningdale on the following monday
Big weeks calls for a lot of bars and protein shakes. And Tomas is always so nice and brings all the stuff. I really like all the WNT shakes and bars. They make life easier for me.
Check out TEAM WNT/TWINLAB here. I guess I'm the weakest guy on the team...by far ;)
All I need now is a tape sponsor...
