Black Mountain
2010-12-13
Good evening!
After a short flight, 5.5 hours from Dubai to Bangkok we are now in Hua Hin and playing at Black Mountain GC. Was here this time last year and it's great here. Fun place with a lot to do. It's like a playground for golfers who likes to practice and work out and play tennis and play pool and play ping pong and some more fun stuff.
Feels very motivating to play a tournament again. I've always loved practice almost more than playing tournaments but I've changed. Now I love having that exciting thrilling nervous feeling in the body and see if I can play as good as I want.
It will be a little different playing an Asian Tour event as it's not my main tour but I will treat it like any other tournament. It's one of the biggest tournaments on the Asian Tour. My preparations have been a little off though since I didn't think I was gonna play here this week:
- have no 52 degree wedge right now. (Brought an old one with illegal grooves)
- have no tourbag. Just a little carry bag.
- have no Pontus here. He was actually here for two weeks playing golf himself but left just before we got here.
- have no towel. Maybe I can get one in the pro shop. Was a ew years ago I was in a pro shop.
- have no long pants. Hugo Boss are great as they are sending some. Thanks a million!
But I had a good week's practice in Dubai and feel ready to get into tournament mode. The course is in perfect shape. Played many casual rounds here with pins in easy positions but coming thursday they will be tough so that will be a little change in difficulty but hope I can manage it.
Old and new In Dubai but I guess they are both newly built.

Last time we were here we played at 6 AM every day before the heat. Tried the same thing today. Got a round in with Ilonen, Edfors and Claes Nilsson. Claes game looked way too good to not having played much tournament golf lately.
Up early for a workout before the practice round. I feel tired just setting the clock for 6 AM.
Schauman just arrived. He hasn't done a chin-up in a while. I might have a chance now. That's scary of this will be my last thought for tonight. Hope not.

Asian Tour
2010-12-11 Enough practice, I've missed playing tournaments. Heading over to Black Mountain, Thailand tomorrow to play in the final Asian Tour event down there.
Great week here otherwise. 26 degrees and not a cloud all week. Spoiled.
Fun to see Mikko, Edfors and all the other guys again.
See you there!

Now I'm back at Butch Harmon School of Golf. No playing today, just a lot of short game and wedges. The best thing whit not hitting as many balls on the range is that you still have some energy left;)
Another work out today. More olympic bar and intervals. I'm not sure in what order. I hate interval training when actually doing it but I like having done the intervals when trying to beat my old records on longer distances.
See you later!

Dubai offers some great views..jpg&width=800&height=533)
Spent the afternoon on Yas Links. Felt exactly like playing Kingsbarns without a winter hat and 4 layers of clothing on. Awesome course and awesome afternoon. I want to play tomorrow again.
Me and Lloyd enjoyed it. At least I did;) Lloyd is a good player. And he likes to practice.
Here are two pictures. The first is from today at Yas Links.
And the second one is from Dunhill Links at Old Course St:Andrews.
Looks a bit alike.
Sleeping well after a day like today. Tomorrow it's practice time.

Yas Links

Playing with Ross McGowan tomorrow at Yas Links. Heard it's great. A links course, in the desert. I guess it's sand under a links course in Britain as well.
Felt like 5 years old today. Went to a waterpark. Fun. Butch Harmon Golf Academy at The Els Club is fun as well. Just in a different way.
Christmas tomorrow.
