Singapore Review
2010-11-15
Finally in Hong Kong!
This week has been the longest tournament week what I can remember. The last round took two days. I finished with a 2 under par 69 and finished 31st on the list. I'm so pleased with how I played this week. Everything improved for each day and I hit shots I haven't been able to hit in a long time. Singapore's course is very long and the scores are pretty high. You have to bring your top game to shoot low around there. Just to show you guys what clubs I hit the last day:
Hole Par Clubs
1. 4 3wood, 9 iron
2. 3 9 iron
3. 4 hybrid, 5 iron
4. 5 hybrid, hybrid (this doesn't look that long but it gets longer)
5. 4 driver, 5 iron
6. 4 3wood, sand wedge
7. 5 Driver, 9 iron, 9 iron
8. 3 4 iron
9. 4 3 wood, 6 iron
10. 4 hybrid, wedge
11. 4 hybrid, wedge (this course still doesn't seem long, but seriously, it will get longer:)
12. 4 Driver, 7 iron
13. 4 hybrid, 7 iron
14. 3 5 iron
15. 4 hybrid, 5 iron
16. 4 hybrid, 9 iron
17. 3 8 iron
18. 5 hybrid, 3wood
Wow, this doesn't seem long at all. I should just erase what I just wrote but it took too long to write it all...anyway...there is water on just about every shot out there so a 5 iron into some of these greens is not the easiest thing. I wish Sweden had tougher courses so I would be more used to this.
Because of the monday finished, there was a flight ticket kaos. Everything was sold out so Pontus jumped on his already booked flight and made it to Hong Kong before I was finished with the last round with a local caddie on the last 4 holes. Felt a bit weird but it worked out ok. Pontus would have arrived on wednesday or had to buy a new ticket for half a billion to get here.
Sleep time here now.

More delays
2010-11-14
Crazy long days here in rainy Singapore. Delays and more delays. My game is getting better for every day which is nice. Today I played the best I've ever played I think.
Sleep now. Then 4 more holes tomorrow and then off to Hongkong!
See you there!

Singapore tournament day 2
2010-11-12
Just fell asleep right now writing this. When waking up at 4.30 this morning, I was not as tired as yesterday when I woke up way later. I guess at 4.30 this morning, my body was still on European time zone mode and the time at home was then 9.30 PM. Weird. Anyway...we got to play golf today!!!
Finished what was left of our round this morning and then headed out on a new one right after on the more relaxing course. Serapong is the tougher of the two and it really shows on the scores. I managed to shot 67 (-4) and just made the cut. Top 65 and ties make the cut out of this huge field of 203 players.
My game is ok at the moment. Driving is good and longer irons as well. I don't get close enough for a lot of birdie opportuities but with two more days I will get a lot more tries and it will be great to play two more rounds on the Serapong course. I hope the weather stays decent so we can finish on time.
The heat is shocking at times but when the sun stays away and the wind picks up it's quite nice to play. I can't believe people playing golf here all the time. It's amazing they have enough energy to practice.
I had none left over for any practice today but had a workout with Pierre when I got back to the hotel. A quick speed workout always gives me energy. Feeling fresher now...or do I. I just fell asleep...
Going into the town today to look at cameras. Heard they are cheap here.

Singapore tournament day 1
2010-11-11 If this tournament didn't have a sponsor it could be called "Delay Masters". There is thunder and lightning pretty much every day here so play gets delayed pretty much every day. A lot of chill time in the locker room but none at night...
Playing good at Serapong course which is the toughest of the two courses we play. 1 under par after 12 so far. Darren helped me a lot last week and my big draw is gone. Feels wonderful to see the ball fly straighter.
Sitting on the bike 30 minutes at night to get less tired in the legs the following day. It's so humid and hot here so I have to stay fresh.
Back with more updates when we have more time here.
Ciao.

Singapore day 2
2010-11-09 Jet lag kicked in pretty fast. Only overslept two and a half hour. But, I was lucky because the course was flooded and there was lightning so timing was perfect.
Singapore ships from an aerial view. From the golf course you see the harbour from half the holes.

35 degrees and humid outside. 19 and airconditioning inside.
Had a good day on the course. Finally beat Edfors. Lost it all though on the putting green against my caddie Pontus doing that stupidly annoying putting drill. Pontus stood on the side with a money-making grin on his face. Tomorrow I'll get it all back and hopefully more.
Late workouts, jet lag and sweating all day makes us pretty tired. Sleep sounds pretty good right now.
