Good weekend anyway
2010-09-06
Last week didn't turn out the way I wanted to. I hit the ball good enough but my short game wasn't there. There are so many short fiddly shots around that course and they seem very easy when you set up but the upside-down-salad bowl greens are giving you a hard time. So...
...me and Edfors spent 3 hours playing short game comps around the trickiest green of them all and we felt like we were back into the groove..jpg&width=800&height=1066)

I had a deal with my putting coach Jon Karlsen that I was going to complete four exercises that we have in putting before the 1st of Sept. The deal was a free day of each other's time. I lost but yesterday I finally broke my record on of them. Was so pumped. Felt very nervous in the end of the exercise, even just on that putting green. That's the kind of exercise you need, tournament like.
It was really fun to work out with Heikki Kovalainen. Mikko says that I've got a lot of energy but Heikki has some serious overload. You can understand he loves to race F1.
Pierre was pushing the crap out of me and it feels like you're gonna puke at the high altitude. I hope it makes me better at ground level now. Fingers crossed:)
Leaving the beauty of Crans-Montana.
Saw this down in Geneva though so I didn't miss the mountains as much. An old Lambo.
My friend was racing in a sailing comp so went to watch that. Never watched sailing before and I heard the Swiss are good at it since they don't have much wind, so they have to be efficient. My friend's team Alinghi won so it was a good day! I need to start winning. I got some ways to go but I'm gonna give it my all. Come on now!!!
Get a good position in the "flying start" seems like the key.
After the win.
Gummibåts-love:)
Going to Amsterdam now to get training for the KLM Open. I have a good record there. 3rd-8th-10th places so far so I got good vibes. I said that last week too I guess:) But my motivation is high and I believe more in myself now. And, I got Pontus on the bag so what could go wrong:)
See you theeeere!

Workout with Kovalainen
2010-09-03
When you get a chance to work out with Heikki Kovalainen you have to prepare carefully..jpg&width=800&height=600)
Mr. Resorb Fluid Replacement, Mr. Coffe and Mr. Red Bull are great buddies before a work out. Mr. Shake comes later.
Happy times. Mikko Ilonen, me, Heikki Kovalainen and Pierre Johansson.
After taking all that stuff before the work out I felt so alert and I was almost sad when the work out was over. I usually beg for it to end but not this time. More coffe and Red Bull mix.
My game was so much better today but training on totally different surface than what we got here was not the smartest thing to do. Short game practice is priority one now and has been for a while. I'm getting there. Not worried. Just dissapointed since I know I can play good here.
Have a great friday night!

Day 1 Omega
2010-09-02
First day in the mountains didn't turn out the way me and Pontus wanted. +2 felt crappy after a few easy misses but I played great the last three holes so I'm very excited for tomorrow.
Our goal for the evening was to be the last players to leave the course and we did it. Short game and putting all night.
After a not so great day on the course, it all made it so very good tonight! Me, Rikard Karlberg and Mikko had dinner and guess who showed up!? Heikki Kovalainen who drives F1 for Team Lotus. He and Mikko are friends. I bothered him with millions of questions about cars and I felt like those golf nuts that asks questions to me that you feel like you have answered a million times before. I kind of like talking to golf nuts though since I am a golf nut myself. Heikki seemed to like answering my stupid questions as well so it was all good. Really cool guy! Damn I want to be an F1 driver!
"Night" protein shake time. The WNT Night Time shake is supposed to have a slow breakdown all trough the night. I feel like those body builders that wakes up in the middle of the night to down a shake, but not as fanatic. But almost.
Another sweet sunny day tomorrow in the alps. Yiha!

Nice to be back!
2010-09-01
We are back in Crans-Montana. I've got great memories from here. Pontus and Pierre are back and it feels like everybody loves this place. It's hard to not love it when it looks like this:
Got in a good practice round yesterday with Todd Hamilton, former Open Champion. He's such a nice guy. Gave me a good tips on a low shot without spin. More club and grip down. Pretty basic but I just have a hard time to grip down on the shaft. Don't know why. But, I'll work on it. Todd is playing a few tournaments in a row over on the European Tour now. Nice to have him here!.jpg&width=800&height=1066)
4th tee shot needs a nice little glider to the right..jpg&width=800&height=1066)
Pro-Am at 12.35 sharp:) Little bit of training. But first I got to make sure I got some clean stuff to wear. Wonder if you can just put the whole bag in the washing machine.

Spotting.
2010-08-30
Saw so much cool stuff today in Geneva. Stayed at a hotel called "The Reserve".
Different and cool.
Maserati MC-12. Not so often you see those. Gorgeous.
Gym time.
And off course my new passion. Tennis. Still crap at it but it's so much fun.
Got a good tips here on how to use the road bike on the balcony. A "must have" it looks like.
After train and car we finally made it up to Crans-Montana. Freezing up here. Weather forecast is +1 degree celsius tomorrow so hard gym in the morning with Pierre and play when it's warmer. If it gets warmer. Fingers crossed. I have good memories of this place since last year. Will be nice to hit the course tomorrow.
This is not taken from the Viking Line boat. I promise. Moi Mikko!
