My idea of running up to Monte-Carlo Golf Club from the Casino in Monaco was maybe not the smartest idea. Maybe even the worse idea I've ever had or ever heard of. It started straight uphill and continued like that for another 7 km.
It's just up that hill to the top where the clouds are. That's what I tried to say to myself.
1/4 of the damn way.
Still 2 km up here. Not so much fun.
This is where my phone broke after the rain started pooring. Had no other map so had to bring my phone. Smart. Not.
Made it after 1 h 32 min. Broken phone, will probably get a cold for being wet and it was cool up the top and totally worn out but I made it all the way and that's the best mental training you can get I think.
Got a lift down the hill with a member who just stared at me and probably wondered who the hell I was and what the hell I was doing.
A few hours rest and then hit the gym. Pierre is trying to bulk me up now when we have a little time off from tournaments. Heavy olympic bar, legs, and core are the focus points.
2010-08-14 Sitting on my balcony preparing for a little run...7.2 km and 900 meters straight up in altitude. I wish I didn't want to do this but I woke up with a need for it somehow so that's how it's gonna be. It takes about 25 minutes to get there by car so I wonder how long it will take running. I'm not a serious runner but it would be fun to see how tough it is.
The route up there.
Hope I won't die.
"You like the blond or the brunette?" "The blonde." "Good, because I'd take any of them."
I really really like these two...unreal!
So, my 3 day vacation this year is over. It's been great. Not so calm as I thought. We focused on tennis, ocean and gym. But, not being able to sit still for more than 5 minutes at a time, it's now time for me to get back to golfing again. I've missed it actually. The watch is set for 5.45 to get to Terre Blanche early before everybody else. Better practice that way...
Erik and Anders taking it chill.
My new favourite running path. Beats the treadmill by miles.
See you guys later!
Finally made it to Monaco after 26 hours travel. It's so worth it though. America was sooooo good and I miss playing already. When we were arriving at Akron Airport the courtesy car lady asked: "You guys are heading to the private hangar, aren't you?" "Eh, no we are not", I replied.. The lady goes on: "But I just drove Mike Weir and Ernie Els there. They are your friends, aren't they". "Yes, I know them a little bit but they travel in a little different way than we are", I said...
This is one of the other players' plane:
We decided to go for this one:
But, in Monaco I met up with "Erik the camera man" who filmed some stuff for the blog from our Grand Prix week earlier this year....
He does not hate Heineken.
From Erik's phone.
All is normal here in Monaco. My instinct to steal a vehicle is still here. I'd take anything. They are all cool here.
2010-08-09 So pumped! I'm moving in the right direction. Had so much fun out there and know exactly what I need to do now.
Happy for my old OSU teammate Hunter Mahan as well!!! 6 under today is impressive. He was the best in college and he's moved all along from there it seems like...
I'm gonna train my ass off now and see what happens...
Pontus says hi...he is free to go home to Gothenburg now. He didn't like Firestone at all...not one bit...or maybe he did.
