In-Room Drills
2010-03-26Got a good question that I thought I should answer:
Hi Alex, would be nice to see what kind of drills you do in room, because i can't image how a in room drill session could look like. All the best for your round and i hope you will hit the ball like you want to hit it!
So, here are a few pics from my in-room drills. These are the main drills I do. Since 2007, I've done these drills and many more in my room to improve faster and get the right sequence and technique. It has helped me a lot I believe and it's fun as well when you come out on grass and feel ready. I usually spend anywhere from 10 minutes to over an hour every day on in-room drills.
Basic putting drill where you keep your focus on the coin even after the ball is gone.
I usually use a putter since the putter grip gives me a better feeling of how I should move the hands. The flat part of the grip can be used in many ways to feel where the club head is during the swing. I try to align the putter head with the left arm.
I do this swing drill on one leg at a time. Really feel the full swing on each leg and get a feeling for how each leg moves in the swing. It also improves your balance.
I love working on my bunker swing since I think it helps my ful swing. I have the club open here, just as in the bunker.
Sleep time. 9.15 Tee time. Let's get some scoring going!!!

Hey Alex! Love your blog! I have a question, if you have your left wrist cupped and the clubface square at the top, doesn't it mean that the grip is strong? I mean, for example, Olazabal has a very weak grip and he need to have the left wrist shut to square the club face at the top. It is only for me to keep learning.reply

Hey Alex,Im wondering how hard do you think it would be to become a caddy on tour?
I really want to do it but I do not know what is the best way to become one.
Any tips on how to get "in" on the tour?

Hey alex,Those drills look good, they are interesting. Also I was wondering what pre shot routine you have and the process of it? I often struggle fully focusing before shots and my routine isnt that good. Keep up the awsome blog and play well.
Thanks.

Hej Alex!Vad är snacket på touren om prestations förhöjande medel, har du fått göra några tester? Tror du det finns spelare som använder steroider eller beta-blockerare?

Thanks for sharing all this information. Best blog on the net!!!!!I'll do putting in my livingroom as well! At least an option when snow is covering the greens.
(It's gone finally!)
What kind of blog is it? Love the simpleness of it. Is the code done by yourself?
Enjoy yourself on the course tomorrow!!!

Very interesting entry! I started indoor swing drills a few weeks ago as well, because i changed my swing completely. It helped me a lot to improve faster - very motivating to see, that professionals do the same!I want a hotel room with that kind of view as well - it looks like you are living the dream of all of us right now.
So keep it up! :-)
