Bucket day
2010-05-05 Went to Turkey for a few days and heading to Sweden on thursday night. Haven't been in Stockholm in forever and will be fun to see all the guys and Bro Hof again.
A whole day of work yesterday. Felt good to take care of the swing stuff right away. I was really pissed off last week at my game. Shortgame was fine but long game dreadful. It's coming though. The new stuff is great and it's easier to do on the range then on a course where the rough is 6 inches tall just outside the 20 yard wide fairways (if they were that wide even?). But, 10 buckets of controlled technique shots yesterday did a lot of good. And the putting green here is good as well. When the hands hurt too much, I putt until the hands feel ok again...can't remember the last time I didn't have to put on tape on the fingers before hitting or playing.
I read the conversation you guys had in the comments box underneath my last blog entry about how to fund professional golf at the start of a career. It's a tough thing to do...I started playing a few tournaments in Sweden close to home and earned a little bit of money and I also got a few local sponsors who are members at my home club. Those helped me get going and I could travel to ET Tour School in 2005. Got on Challenge Tour in 2006, and started ok and earned some money in the first few tournaments so I could keep going. A good thing many players do is to arrange a tournament at your local club and try to earn money from the entry fees from the members. I'm sure they would all pay up a little bit to support a home club player who wants to give it a chance.
Taken a lot of pics lately and here are a few:
Done.
Short green.
Cool store.
12 buckets now. Like my old assistant coach at college used to say. "Without blood on the fingers, you haven't practised". I shouldn't take things to literally maybe...

Alex- really enjoying reading about life on Tour on your blog.Exciting times with a new coach. Can you give us some ideas on what you are working on as your swing always looks great as it is now.
Good luck and keep us up to date with your progress!

Alex,One thing I'm curious about is how you transport your gear.
Do you use a hard case over your bag when flying or just a cover? Do you ever have clubs damaged after a flight?

Hey Alex, suppose thats Carya Golf, Belek on the pics. Can remember the green as well, full wedge shot from the beginning of the green to the highest level :-)
Will be in Stockholm on the weekend as well. Have teetimes on the castle and stadium course for Saturday and Sunday. Really looking forward. Hopefully weather will be better (warmer) than forecast, already put my winter equipment away .
Suppose will see you on the range with a few buckets...

Alex, You are easily one of my favourite golfers of the last decade, you seem really down to earth and have a great swing. Your swing is so close to being spot on. SO CLOSE... It actually frustrates me. I honestly believe i know someone that could get you hitting it like you want too. LONG... And with control. He is currently working with a pga champion but is 'relatively' unknown.I know you will probably dismiss this post as 'a kid that doesn't know what he is talking about'. But i had to get it out there. If you are interested in anyway email me and i can give you some contact details.

Hi AlexI am a keen golfer and have followed you the past three years and watched you at Wentworth on the weekend the last two years! Even got an autograph last time! :) I was wondering how different is your swing when hitting the ball badly compared to when you won in Switzerland? Is it small or big because your swing still looks amazing! Is it more mental or physical when things go bad? All the best a good tournament is just around the corner hope to follow you on the weekend at Wentworth again this year!

Alex, looks like your'e trying to swing it a little more upright than normal.....? Is this something you and your new coach are working on?
